A wingnut with a difference. One of the very first issues we identified with the classic Roorkhee Chair was that the wingnut undid itself with frequent use. Many an hour has been lost sifting through the Kalahari sand to find the "wings" of the nut. Our solution; a beautifully designed wingnut that recesses into the wood, completely avoiding this nagging little issue and adding loads of class.
We've got your back! Through a lot of trial-and-error we realised that once the Roorkkhee is lived in, the back has a very nasty way of flipping itself on its head every time you get up to refill your glass. We've resolved this issue by adding an elegant solid brass stud at the end of a leather strap that wraps around the chair's legs. This ensures that the back stays in place and you won't have to adjust it every time you try and get up. At Els & Co. every detail counts.
Why has no one thought of this? In hundreds of years, nobody has thought to add a drinks tray to the Roorkhee Campaign Chair. Our beautiful drinks tray was designed to be ambidextrous and easily clips onto either side of the chair for your convenience. The tray is designed in such a way that a wine glass can easily glide into the opening. The tray securely fits the glass to ensure that your wine is kept in place.

All four legs move independently so you can make a Roorkhee stand on all fours, even on uneven surfaces like we often encounter in the bush. This fabulous feather has one serious flaw though; if you push yourself out of the chair leaning on the leather armrests, you canter the legs towards one another and the cross arm that holds you and the chair in place snaps off like a twig. This often leaves the Roorhkee's occupant sprawled in the dust; not all that pleasant. We fixed this problem for good by planting a stainless steel rod in the wood and finishing it off with a solid brass cap.
Looks are just as important as functionality at Els & Co. and therefore every detail counts. The brass rods are finished off with a solid brass cap engraved with the Els & Co. logo. This detail adds an element of elegance and sophistication that puts our Roorkhee Chair in a class above.
Adding an old-school English flair. The legs of the Roorhkee chair are finished off with a bit of an old-school touch. Breaking the mould of the functional design of years gone by we added a few Classic English touches with a voluptuous ball shaped into the leg of the chair.
To continue with the Classic English touches, we have added a tulip-shaped foot to the legs of the chair to enhance the "campaign look" and compliment the voluptuous ball seen at the top of the legs.
If you've ever owned a Roorkhee you'll know that the classic design takes an engineering degree to assemble. We've chosen the simplest way to assemble the Roorkhee. This design not only assembles in a jiffy but it makes it possible for us to add some flair to the Roorkhee's legs.
The Roorkhee Campaign Chair folds up neatly into itsself so that you can easily carry it to your next destiation.
